Italian Stone Technology Stars at COVERINGS 2024

Once again, at the 2024 edition of COVERINGS (Atlanta, USA, April 22/25), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) and CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE have organized the collective participation of leading Italian companies producing the most advanced technologies for processing natural stone materials.

Italy is the number one supplier of stone technologies to the US, with a market share of more than 30%. In 2023 the total worth of US imports of Made in Italy machines, installations, equipment, tools and complementary products to extract and process ornamental stones reached  195 million USD.

Over the years, Italian leadership has been established via consistent innovation, customized technology solutions, effective after-sale support, and more recently a responsive approach to issues raised by sustainability and energy savings.

Overall, the Italian stone and techno-stone industry encompassing both materials and stone-working technologies, which CONFINDUSTRIA MARMOMACCHINE also represents, comprises more than 3,200 companies and employs 34,000 people, with a revenue of over 4.9 billion USD. It also exports more than 3.5 billion USD, has a strong export bias (accounting for 71.2% of production), and above all an annual trade balance of about 3.0 billion USD (2022 data).
